The 2017 Weekday Greenway Food Truck Schedule Starts Next Week

Lunch heads outdoors on Monday, April 3, with the eighth season of the Greenway Mobile Eats. The food truck program brings 35 different vendors to the former elevated highway (remember that?!) throughout the season, at spots from the North End to Chinatown.

Most weekdays, trucks (and trikes) will be found at Dewey Square Park Plaza, Dewey Square Park at Congress Street, and Rowes Wharf Plaza at High Street. They also show up at Chinatown Park, the Wharf District Parks at Hanover Street, and at the Greenway Carousel.

(Speaking of, ride a codfish, owl, butterfly, etc., again when carousel season begins Friday, March 31.)

The Mobile Eats program has grown every year, with more than 650,000 lunchtime visitors during last season, the Greenway Conservancy announced with today’s lineup.

“The Greenway has become the destination for warm weather lunch downtown,” executive director Jesse Brackenbury said in a statement. “We’re delighted to bring new cuisines this year and continue to work with so many local food entrepreneurs.”

More than 50 applicants vied for this year’s slots, and 27 vendors are returning, including Gogi on the Block, Mei Mei Street Kitchen, Posto Mobile, Sheherazad, Stoked Wood Fired Pizza Co., the Bacon Truck, the Chubby Chickpea, and more. Eight businesses join the fray in 2017:

• Boston Burger Company (burgers)
• Compliments Food Co. (gourmet sandwiches)
• Fresh Food Generation (Latin and Caribbean farm-to-plate)
• Indulge India (family-owned Indian cuisine)
• Mo’Rockin’ Fusion (Moroccan fusion)
• Morning Salute (veteran-owned breakfast)
• Shuck Food Truck (fresh seafood)
• The Coffee Trike (craft coffee on wheels)

Can’t make it to the Greenway during weekday lunch hours? Mark your calendars for this year’s Greenway Spring Food Truck Festival on Saturday, April 22, when about a dozen vendors are parked between Milk and India streets from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Also: The Cookie Monstah sets up shop every Saturday and Sunday, alongside the Greenway Open Market.
