Get ready to scream for free ice cream: Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day returns on Tuesday, April 4, at locations around the world. The annual excuse to take a long lunch break offers free ice cream all day, as a gesture of thanks for fans’ support and enthusiasm.

For the first time this year, Showcase Cinemas is participating in Free Cone Day, too. Select locations will have gratis ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s counters inside the venues. Bonus: The cinemas’ “Bargain Tuesday” coincides with Free Cone Day, so movie-goers can stick around and see a film for a discounted price.

Ben and Jerry’s was founded with the intention of giving back to the community, and the company is committed to supporting progressive causes like marriage equality and climate justice. The products are sourced with fair trade and non-GMO ingredients.

“Free Cone Day is one way for me to say ‘thank you’ and also raise awareness for a great cause,” Harvard Square scoop shop owner Stephen Marcus said in a press release.

You can visit local Ben & Jerry’s shops on Newbury Street, and in Braintree, Harvard Square, and Natick—and maybe a brand new location in the Seaport—for a free scoop between noon-8 p.m. Participating Showcase locations are in Dedham, Foxboro, Revere, Randolph, and Lowell.
