Just in time to send off the academic year, Harvard students have the first taste of a new Clover concept. The Cambridge-born company quietly debuted its latest location today inside the Cabot Science Library on the Harvard campus.

The coffee-focused counter is fully open to the general public, but it also has an exclusive, secret entrance just for folks who have already swiped into the library with a Harvard ID, says Lucia Jazayeri, Clover’s communications director.

The newest Clover—the company’s 11th brick-and-mortar, and its second in Harvard Square—will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, with some new exclusives. The Clover Coffee Bar will have a daily selection of single-origin coffees from Massachusetts roasters, plus house-made flavor syrups. It will also serve café con leche.

Beyond coffee, the café has a juicer to make fresh orange and tangerine juices to order, and will have a seasonal selection of grab-and-go fruits, sourced from a few farms in Western Massachusetts. Fresh flowers on display will also be for sale, in addition to just brightening up the academic hub, Jazayeri says.

Food-wise, the vegetarian go-to will have its classic range of locavore sandwiches, soups, and salads, and the requisite absence of freezers, microwaves, and can openers. The new location is the only Clover that will have fresh apple cider doughnuts every day, and Clover whoopie pies are also always on the menu. Study fuel includes Somerville-made chocolates, and new house-made sour cream and leek potato chips.

To start, Clover will be open at the Harvard Science Library this week from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., including during Commencement on Thursday. Stay tuned for expanded hours.

Clover was recently among the likes of Dig Inn, Luke’s Lobster, and more fast-casual brands on QSR Magazine’s list of companies to watch. Elsewhere in the Clover universe, it’s now taking applicants for its two short-term pop-up locations.
