Here’s some motivation to get your steps in this month: The Greenway Hunt is back, with dozens of food truck gift cards, Boston zipline and carousel tickets, and more prizes hidden in the downtown parks for the next two weeks.

The Greenway, which extends from Chinatown to North End Park, is hosting a social media campaign August 15 (that’s today) through Friday, August 25, to promote the public park’s activities and amenities. Throughout the day, every day, the Greenway’s Facebook and Instagram accounts will share “interactive prompts”—trivia questions, calls to physical locations, requests to tag friends—for more than 75 chances to win prizes. Bon Me, Taco Party, Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, the Greenway Zipline, and more vendors have donated.

Different from last year’s inaugural scavenger hunt: Many of the prizes can be won online, without a visit to the park. But if the weather’s fine, why not explore the 17 acres of greenery and public art? Remember when it used to be multiple lanes of traffic? The #GreenwayHunt will showcase its gardens, public art installations, activities, food and drink options, and more.

“It’s a great opportunity for the Conservancy to say ‘thank you’ to our visitors and also to raise awareness about new additions to our park—like the Trillium Beer Garden and Greenway Zipline,” says the nonprofit’s executive director, Jesse Brackenbury, in a press release. “We hope to inspire more people to visit some of our lesser-known attractions and fully utilize all the amenities the Greenway has to offer.”

Follow along online, and get outside in August—there is free food and fun in it for you.
