At Ruckus Boston

Have you checked out the Shōjō team’s excellent new noodle house yet? If not, never fear—there are now more hours per week to do just that. This week, Ruckus extended its hours by one hour in either direction. You can now slurp hand-made noodles from executive chef Mike Stark (Tiger Mama, Coppa) and team every Thursday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. The small but mighty menu continues to grow, too, with new bites like a pork belly-filled yaki onigiri (grilled rice ball). Sounds like a perfect weekend snack to us.

Drink Beer, Save Water

We’re feeling pretty heartbroken for our fellow citizens in the path of not one, but two phenomenally destructive recent hurricanes. Here’s a tangible way to help people out: Lord Hobo Brewing Company is collecting cases of bottled water at its Woburn brewery, and plans to ship it south to Florida. For every case of water you bring by this Saturday, they’ll give you a pint in return. That’s refreshing.

Saturday, September 9, noon-10 p.m., 5 Draper St., Woburn, 781-281-0809, lordhobobrewing.com.

An Old Fashioned, and Old Fashioned Ice Cream

Parlor Ice Cream Co. is back at Bully Boy Distillers for another boozy ice cream social on Saturday. Pastry chef Jacqueline Dole is bringing a couple seasonal flavors to pair with cocktails by bar manager Alex Koblan—and that includes a spin on a classic Old Fashioned. With a boozy cherry on top, please.

Saturday, September 9, 2-5 p.m., Bully Boy Distillers, 44 Cedric St., Boston, Facebook.

Chicken, Cookies, and Cheese

Super Cluckin’ Sunday returns to Cutty’s this weekend, and that means it’s the first Sunday of business for Curds & Co. next door. The new shop opens one Sunday per month to coincide with this crispy fried funday (which starts at 10 a.m.), with special tastings and more. This week’s event features a cookies-and-cheese pairing with Lark Fine Foods. Pro tip: Get in line for chicken first.

Sunday, September 10, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Curds & Co., 288 Washington St., Brookline, 617-759-5278, curdsandco.com.
