Mmmmmm...Gourmet Street Grub

By Amy Traverso

If the recent spate of fancy food trucks is any indication, the hub may soon boast a street-eats scene to rival New York's. A far cry from vendors of workaday burgers, these movable-feast newcomers are serving up seriously haute fare. Near MIT, Clover is the brainchild of Ayr Muir, an Institute grad himself, who turns out seasonal, vegetarian, and mostly organic soups, salads, sandwiches (of note, the chickpea fritter in a pocket), rosemary fries, and, for breakfast, fresh popovers. And coming this summer to a to-be-determined Cambridge location is Cutty's, another organic, seasonal soup-and-sandwich operation, from local chef Charles Kelsey, former Cook's Illustrated staffer (and occasional Boston contributor). Look for decadent porchetta sandwiches, smoked paprika potato chips, and fully loaded Rice Krispies treats.
