Summer treats delivered to your door.

“Just like Mom used to make.” It’s the ultimate compliment comfort food can get. But we’re pretty sure no one’s mom made pies like Paul Bergeron, co-owner of Sakonnet River Pie. A classically trained chef, Bergeron began selling pies in 2004 from an honor system stand in front of his weekend home in Little Compton, Rhode Island. Soon, he had a cult Boston following—and a commercial kitchen on his property to meet demand for flaky, lattice-topped fruit pies, such as three-berry and peach, and gorgeous tarts, like lemon garnished with candied lemon peel.

Still, 60 miles and back is a long way to go for pie, even pie this good. So this summer Bergeron began shipping “hand pies”—heart- or round-shaped, awe-shucks-inspiring mini pies bursting with sweet summer berries. Just like Mom would have made—if only she knew how.
