Oisa Ramen Brunch at the Middle Gray
As Moe Kuroki continues to plan out her “home away from home,” the Oisa Ramen chef is taking over breakfast and lunch service at the Middle Gray for a couple weeks. Stop by Wednesday-Friday for Japanese breakfast, including tamago-yaki (omelet), and kid-friendly version, with onigiri and fried chicken. Lunch brings gyu-don (beef) and tofu soboro don rice bowls, and weekend brunch has some of Kuroki’s bar snacks, like the chashu chili dog, and shichimi fries, as well as mazesoba ramen. More of an evening person? Oisa Ramen has a monthly dinner pop-up at Brassica Kitchen, too.

Taste & Technique Dinner with Naomi Pomeroy (Beast PDX) at Tavern Road
Tavern Road chef Louis DiBiccari is welcoming not only Boston beasts Jamie Bissonnette (Toro, Coppa, Little Donkey) and Matthew Jennings (Townsman) into his kitchen, but also Naomi Pomeroy of Beast in Portland, Oregon. Pomeroy, 2014’s Beard Award-winning Best Chef Northwest, is in town with her debut cookbook, Taste & Technique, and a copy comes with each ticket. The fee also includes a five-course meal prepared by the chef supergroup, including a tuna poke, cauliflower velouté with trout roe, pigtail cappelletti in corn brodo, and more.

Sushi & Sake with Christopher Chung
After shuttering his Lincoln restaurant AKA Bistro this spring, Christopher Chung is considering his next move. Known for destination dishes inspired by classic French technique as well as Japanese tradition the metrowest spot, and a longtime chef at Uni, Chung is popping up around Boston with modern Japanese small plates. His latest collaboration with Heat and Journeyman chef Tru Lang highlights local, cold weather seafood, including Island Creek Oyster and sake kasu, rice, and smoked pepper; uni with pumpkin, young giner, and house miso, and more.

Winter Hill Brewing Co. Growler Launch
Somerville’s newest brewery is finally able to offer beer to-go, and growler collectors, take note: Winter Hill is keeping their program limited. Owner Jeff Rowe has ordered just 50, 64-ounce stainless steel jugs. “We didn’t want to deal with glass, and we’re so small, we have no space for pallets,” he says. This party will introduce the growler “club,” of sorts, and the first-ever jug will be raffled off. Depending on the interest, they may sell more in the future. Beers below 7 percent ABV will be available to-go, including Ryan the Terrible, a dark, rustic rye ale, made with cherrywood smoked malt. Try that beer for the first time during the party, while its namesake, music promoter Ryan Agate, spins pop punk and local records.

Anthony Bourdain: the Hunger Tour
October is when your favorite food media comes to life, with Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Kitchen launch, Cook’s Science live, and more. It also includes an opportunity to hear Parts Unknown adventurer and former chef Anthony Bourdain’s travel stories in person. Don’t miss Bourdain’s “unyielding, brutally honest monologue” about diverse cultures and cuisines, and your chance to ask him questions.

Brooklyn Brewery Boston Mash
The New York beer juggernaut brings its annual tour to Boston from Thursday, October 13-Saturday, October 15 with an elevated takes on the beer festival, a Union/Inman Square pub crawl, and more. Brooklyn Brewery’s culinary director is also joining forces with Hojoko chef Hart Lowry for “a flock of different rare and intriguing beers on the table, [and] a continuous stream of new courses to try alongside them.” Check out the full lineup of Boston Mash events online.

Kaki Lima @ KO Pies at the Shipyard
Before heading back to Jakarta this winter for supplies and inspiration for her future restaurant, chef Retno Pratiwi is giving Boston several more opportunities to try her Indonesian cuisine. That includes a visit to where the East Boston-based pop-up started, and where Kaki Lima had a Sunday residency as KL @ KO this past year. Look for menu and ticketing details in the coming weeks.

Harvest Party at the Boston Public Market
Celebrate a year-plus of having your favorite farmers’ market vendors just a T stop away at Boston Public Market’s inaugural Harvest Party. There will be interactive demos, free samples, live music, a raffle, and more. The fundraiser supports the Public Market’s mission to connect the community with its 40 local purveyors, and will fuel another year of classes, school field trips, and other programming.

For the past few years, the Blue Room and Belly Wine Bar have celebrated Spain’s dry, effervescent txakoli each spring with a fun, funky wine fest—until a fire shut down the Kendall Square siblings for a year. But now, the restaurants are back, and frappato is the new txakoli. The fall fest highlights this light-bodied, fruity red varietal, and chef Joe Guarino is making a menu of Sicilian street food. The teams will build a toasty fire in the wood grill, so no fear of freezing while you throw down on the sister spots’ urban patio oasis. Tickets include food and wine.

Cheese + Charcuterie at Bantam Cider
Ahead of the annual Franklin County CiderDays, Somerville’s cidery is inviting over a few fellow Massachusetts producers to complement “as much cheese, cured meats, and tiny pickles as your heart desires.” Tickets include the spread, as well as the first pour from a selection of Bantam Ciders; subsequent pints are $6.
