Look Out for Lawson’s Finest Liquids in Boston
Two canned brands from the sought-after Vermont brewery will soon hit Massachusetts refrigerators.
A few bars have tantalizingly teased the arrival of coveted Vermont brews from Lawson’s Finest Liquids this winter, but now it’ll be a little easier to spot the bright yellow cans of Sip of Sunshine in Massachusetts. Lawson’s announced today it has struck a deal with Atlantic Beverage Distributors to bring Sip and soon, the crushable, quaffable Super Session #2, to Boston-area bars and retailers.
“Atlantic has shown us their commitment to keeping our beers cold and getting them to our fans as fresh as possible with their new distribution facility in Holliston and a talented staff,” Sean Lawson said in a newsletter on his website.
Sip of Sunshine, a fruity, earthy, dank, and dangerously drinkable 8 percent IPA, has become a flagship for the small-but-growing Lawson’s Finest Liquids. The highly rated, 16-ounce cans are brewed and packaged in Connecticut, thanks to a contract brewing relationship between Lawson and Two Roads Brewing Co.
Lawson has long intended to produce enough of that brand for wider Northeastern distribution, but consumers in Vermont and Connecticut were drinking it faster than he could make it, he previously told Boston.
Super Session #2 packs substantial floral and grassy hop character into a 4.8 percent ABV sipper that is also contract-brewed in Connecticut. Sip of Sunshine will start rolling out on January 31, and Super Session will be available “in future months,” Lawson said today. Lawson’s is also expanding further into Vermont and Connecticut in the early part of 2017.
Lawson’s Finest Liquids, co-owned by Lawson and his wife, Karen, has been a requisite for beer fans in Vermont for the past eight years. Based out of a seven-barrel brewhouse in their garage in Warren, though, it is not a destination brewery—yet. The Lawsons are building out a 7,500-square foot warehouse and production facility in Waitsfield, Vt., as a 30-barrel brewhouse and taproom, slated for a 2018 opening.
Atlantic Distributors has updated its website with restaurants accounts to guide beer lovers in search of Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Check go-tos like Deep Ellum, Row 34, Meadhall, Lord Hobo, and more to find a can or a fresh draft pour near you.
