In a neighborhood rife with $30 plates of comfort food tarted up with organic ramps and pomegranate purée, the Beehive's quirky grub and chilled-out subterranean setting are a respite. If the scads of day-trippers clad in Nautica and locals with strollers give you pause, though, rest easy. The sophisticated menu from chef Rebecca Newell offers no amnesty to the Applebee's set: The fried cauliflower with frisée, basil, and grapes and the aptly named bunch of bacon seem like snacks that a munchies-addled chef would cobble together off-hours. By the time the live music starts around 8 p.m., the strollers have rolled on and an authentically groovy energy kicks in. And by your second Negroni, it dawns on you that those are legit Berklee jazzers onstage, the artwork is by real local artists, and that cod with bacon, butter beans, and red chili gnocchi is pretty darned good.

I went to The Beehive last night and was pleasantly suprised by the great ambiance and even better food! I had the vegetarian couscous dish and I cleaned off my entire plate. Really worth it! I can't wait to go back.

I cannot wait to return to The Beehive! There truly is a never-ending list of all my favorite parts about dining there! It's hard to find good music, great food, and an even better atmosphere all together, but at The Beehive it's a 3 in 1.

Beehive was one of the best restaurants I had been to in a long time. The food was incredible and we loved the jazz band. There are so few places where you can go and hear great music while you are dining.

I truly love beehive. I remember eating their last summer and a few tables away was Bruce Willis. I totally was the idiot fan and asked for his autograph and he was really nice. I've been many times since and I just went to the beehive again 2 nights ago after not going for some time and I actually like it even more now. The food has really changed and we had an amazing dinner, met some really cool people and the Manager even came to our table "Some Crazy French Guy" and sat with us and talked about the champagne list and how we should pair sparkling wine with our food. We did and it was really cool that he took the time to sit, laugh and teach us. I think what people don't get about this place is..it isn't the French Laundry and it doesn't try to be. I think if they built the building from scratch it would be in a barn or old wine cellar. It is rustic and it's really about the whole place as one rather than food focused, wine focused, art focused...its the whole package. If you want a white linen dinner by candle light this is not the place to go. If you want to eat great food, listen to awesome music and just meet really diverse people this is a must see in boston.

I love going to dinner at The Beehive during the early jazz set. You can have an amazing dinner while sipping on cocktails and listening to live jazz. After dinner you have front row seats to the nightlife!

Loved loved loved my experience at The Beehive. It has an amazing cocktail list with delicious food items on their menu. The ambiance is unlike anywhere else in the city! I highly recommend it for an after work spot or bring your out of town guests - they will be very impressed!

Hello, I had a very disappointing meal at your restaurant the other day. I had Steak frites. The steak was like london broil, not hanger steak, it was tepid not warm, I substituted the frites for polenta which were gooey and more like mash potatoes.
