A constant flow of North Enders, minor celebrities, and tourists shuffle through Bricco's front door, waving hello to owner Frank de Pasquale (usually perched at the bar). Seated in the mirrored dining room, they dig into house-made tagliatelle with langoustines, and veal stuffed with pancetta and fontina. The mostly Italian wine list offers a winding tour of all the major regions.

My husband, brother and I had dinner at Bricco a few months ago, and everything about it was fantastic (I come from an Italian family and I am VERY picky when it comes to Italian restaurants). We went on a Saturday night, so it was crowded, but we were seated within 15 minutes. Our waiter was very friendly, made suggestions, and the food was delivered to our table within a reasonable amount of time. I loved the cestini, the crab meat appetizer was amazing, and my husband and brother loved their entrees as well. Highly recommended! Posted by Marisa: Dec. December 4th, 2010 at 8:09 AM

This was our first trip to Boston - went into the city for dinner. Was recommended Bricco by our Hotel. What a great area. Our waiter Michael was wonderful - even brought us a little unexpected tasting prior to our main course. The "pillows" are a must get treat and the Sea Bass was fabulous and of course the fresh imported mozzarella. We had a very large group and everyone was delightfully satisfied. Delizioso! Buon appetito. Ciao... Posted by Amy: Jan. January 16th, 2010 at 10:05 PM

Lousy food, sleazy waitstaff and the ambience and decor of a subway station. Other than that, this place is sound as a pound.

I am not one for writing (or reading) online reviews, but after visiting Bricco, I feel compelled to speak my peace. Please, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere - Pompei, Strega, Mamma Maria, etc. Setting is mediocre - lighting must be very dim to hide the lack of decorative creativity. Food is not horrible but definetly does not live up to the price tag. Service is atrocious - wait staff, as well as barkeep. All in all, I feel that this place is wasting prime real estate on Hanover street. Just my two cents. Posted by Johnathan: Jan. January 21st, 2008 at 9:46 AM
