Ten minutes north of Boston, in Winchester, is Catch—a sophisticated restaurant that could rival any in the city. Chef and co-owner Chris Parsons’s menu is, by definition, seafood-centric, and his ingredients are local and seasonally sensitive (the proof: the names of his many local purveyors listed alongside the dishes on the menu). From his open kitchen, Parsons watches over the 30-seat, sage-green dining room, and seems to take real pleasure in sending out dishes such as a salad of thinly sliced roasted beets loaded with rich, fresh goat cheese, and a braised lobster that sings with buttery richness. Catch also showcases an all-American wine list.
