Trendy hangouts die hard, but Dillon’s manages to stay fashionable without much pretension. There are no lines to get in and no backward baseball caps—except on Red Sox game nights, when the Fenway fans crowd Dillon’s tiny outdoor patio and bar, where flat-screen TVs offer pregame entertainment. A sunken dining room, washed in mahogany and oak, sits just past the bar. The food occasionally takes some unfortunate turns, including a lackluster plate of too-lean barbecue ribs and a tough, overdone burger. But on the positive side, there’s the rich (if overcooked) lobster ravioli. A long specialty-cocktail list, though pricey, helps make up for what the food lacks.
