Housed in a brownstone a few blocks north of the State House, Grotto is a cozy little spot with good service. Chef-owner Scott Herritt’s simple dishes (like the salad of baby spinach, goat cheese, walnuts, beets, and raspberry vinaigrette) work best.

Never miss it

Review
I love to visit Boston, and do so at least 3 times/year. Grotto is one restaurant that I never miss. Service is intimate, and I have never had anything there that wasn't delicious. I especially like the appetizer with the spinach and mozzarella cheese and roasted red pepper, and the meatballs on the spaghetti and meatballs are made in heaven. Overall, it is a wonderful dining experience, and easy on the wallet, comparatively.
