International superchef Jean-Georges Vongerichten returns to Boston with this W Hotel dining destination. (He opened his first U.S. restaurant, the long-defunct Lafayette, in the Hub in 1985.) Local produce drives the menu, while Asian flavors spice things up; can’t-miss dishes include foie gras brûlée with spiced fig jam, nut-and-seed-crusted striped bass in a sweet-and-sour broth, and tuna tartare with avocado and spicy radish-and-ginger dressing.

Situated at the W hotel, first impression was that I had made a good choice. But as you enter the restaurant, you realise that the noise level is too high, music blaring from the bar outside.
The food was quite average and just didn't have the oomph that I expected from previous reviews. I had the hamachi sushi with olives and chilli which was much too oily. The red snapper with artichoke was bland as well. Dessert was slightly better. The mango upside down cake with basil ice cream and the cheesecake with crispy strawberries and rhubarb sorbet was interesting. But overall, it was pricey and the ambience was not great. Definitely would not go back again.
