Vestiges of the ice cream parlor that once occupied this space can be seen in the tin ceiling, tiled floor, wooden booths, and coat racks. The Metropolis today serves reliably good pasta, beef, and seafood dishes. Note: The restaurant closes between breakfast (2 p.m.)/brunch (3 p.m.) and dinner, which begins at 5:30 nightly.
