Rani
Coolidge Corner’s stylish Indian restaurant Rani features a 400-year-old southern Indian Hyderabadi cooking style focusing on meats and exotic spices. A renovated dining room has dark hardwood floors and simple, dropped light fixtures that hang over wooden tables covered with dishes like the refreshing appetizer palak chaat, tamarind-flavored fried spinach and chickpeas with lemon. Classic Hyderabadi dishes like murg musalam, a hefty roasted half chicken with fragrant cashew-cumin gravy, and the Kashmir lamb dish rogan josh, doused in a spicy, dark clove sauce, are also on the list. The drink lineup boasts more than two dozen wines and three Indian beers (plus several domestic ones), as well as a large tea selection.
