This cozy nook of a South End restaurant is the definition of a neighborhood hangout: dimly-lit rooms, prices low enough for impromptu weeknight dinners, and well-executed but familiar fare. Chef Joseph Brenner (formerly of Olives) has added new entrées including shepherd's pie with roasted root vegetables, and sinful desserts like chocolate-espresso torte with coffee ice cream.
Review
the South End Buttery, open for a couple of years for breakfast and lunch, has now expanded into dinner. This was great before but now is even better. The dinner menu is very eclectic and the food is delicious. We had the figs starter, followed by the pork entree and the cod entree. We all raved about the food. Staff is very pleasant and service was excellent. The owner, Richard, is very charming. He came over to our table to see how we enjoyed the meal. Very good value also. Posted by joanna: Oct.
