This Gloucester storefront café serves a fine lunch, but breakfast is the can't-miss meal of the day. More specifically, the fluffy buttermilk and blueberry flapjacks as big and thick as Paul Bunyan's mittens, and—even better—spicy carrot cake pancakes topped with maple–cream cheese butter.

Not at all hard to understand why Sugar Magnolia's won "Best Breakfast" North of Boston last year! Great food from pancakes to benedicts and everything in between! Don't miss the carrot cake pancakes with maple cream cheese butter, or the pineapple fritters, or the peanut butter/banana/bacon/honey sandwich. Seriously. Comfortable and casual with a welcoming staff. Sugar Mags rocks!
