This understated (and underrated) bistro feels like a South End boîte transplanted to the heart of Cambridge. The kitchen uses gourmet ingredients and spices to create unexpectedly delicious dishes, from French fries served with an indulgent curry-mayonnaise dip, to savory sea scallops over fregola (toasted grain-size pasta). Comfort food is the signature here, and the portions are, well, comfortably sized. Specialty and classic cocktails reign at the bar, as do microbrews and a friendly group of regulars. Don’t miss the lounge’s luscious homemade ice cream. Please note that the kitchen closes at 11:30 p.m. and reservations are not available on Fridays and Saturdays.
