Central Square is known for its live music and lively nightlife, but even clubbers need to eat. Thankfully this wasn’t lost on the owners of the Middle East live-music venues who created ZuZu. With warmly painted walls, a small bar and lounge area, and a menu that takes you from the Middle East to Latin America, ZuZu is a watering hole for late-night hipsters. Fried plantains are a fixture, served as an appetizer with fresh salsa and guacamole or as an accompaniment to the hearty tequila lime shrimp and the Cuban sandwich. Veggie lovers will savor options like the well-presented tofu tagine loaded with fresh asparagus and peppers. ZuZu presents live music until 1 a.m. (2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights). Note: ZuZu has a $2 cover charge on Friday nights.
