An ultramod chair fit for a prima fashionista brings something fierce to the table.
By Rachel Baker
Take one out-of-the-box furniture retailer, add a New Design pioneer, throw in a pair of superstar Italian couturiers, and what do you get? The hottest seat in town. Since debuting in 2004 at minimalist home store Kartell in bright, solid-color fabrics, the Philippe Starck–designed Mademoiselle chair has been a perennial bestseller. Now Dolce & Gabbana, the celebrated fashion team with an eye for the outrageous, has lent its signature animal magnetism to a special edition of the chair, exclusive in Boston to Kartell's Back Bay flagship. Availability of this exotic offering is limited, and décor obsessives are salivating. Expect the claws to come out.
Dolce & Gabbana Mademoiselle chair, $950, Kartell, 10 St. James Ave., Boston, 617-728-4442, kartellus.com.
