Louis Boston patrons are mourning the loss of the luxe outpost’s free parking: For the first time in its 19-year history, the store is charging a fee at its Newbury Street lot, though shoppers, salon-goers, and diners who spend more than $50 will get a discounted rate. According to a Louis rep, this is no abrupt bout of stinginess, nor a sign the Back Bay landmark has fallen on hard times. It began applying for a charge-to-park permit eight years ago, and only recently had its wish granted.
