I wish I had seen these reviews before I booked Jonathan. He seemed so professional and great the day of the wedding, but it's been six weeks, and we've had no communication since the day of the wedding. We've called and emailed, and I am now horrified that we have paid in full, since I am expecting to receive nothing now - our pictures have not even been posted online yet. I do have many friends that are attorneys, but the last thing I want as a memory of my wedding is a protracted legal battle. My advice - pay a little more and hire someone recommended on the knot. At least you'll get your pictures!

All the positive reviews here were posted on the same day within minutes of each other. That strikes me as very suspicious. This photographer still hasn't provided my wedding albums purchased and paid for prior to my 2007 wedding. Very disappointing!

When we looked through our pictures, it seemed that Jon had been in multiple places at once several times throughout the day, even though I had barely noticed him in the moment. He got shots of every important moment (all discussed before-hand), yet he was never obtrusive or distracting during the day's events. He did an excellent job of directing people into place to get excellent shots, and some of the candid shots he took throughout the day are my favorites. The session Jon and I had to discuss expectations before the wedding was very helpful and ensured my husband and I got the shots we wanted. Jon has a very artistic eye and knows just when to snap the best shot!

Jon indicated to us up front that 'he would do his thing', which would be to capture the memorable day, yet it would seem to us that he was not really there. Jon was efficient prior to the ceremony capturing more posed shots with the wedding party and family members (although very creative with some depth and wedding ring/flower photos which we love!) and discreet during the ceremony and reception yet capturing all the important moments (i.e., arrival of bride, father and mother, hand-off of bride, marriage vows, exchanging of rings, flower ceremony, wedding party announcements, toasts, first dances, guests, food, location, moon/stars, etc.). Jon did equally a subpurb job of capturing posed and action shots!

Jon was amazing. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Not only was he professional but he fit in with EVERY person at my wedding as if he were part of the family. He was funny, charming, and really listened to what the bride and family wanted...and was more than happy to oblige. I would recommend Jon to anyone getting married. He's VERY affordable but when you see the pics you'll think you spent a million!

I had many guests comment on how much they liked the photographer, as did my husband and I. We found Jon on a blind Google search and were impressed by how responsive he was to my email questions. He was the only vendor related to my wedding that was proactive with my wedding arrangements. I did not have to micromanage him, or worry about how the outcome may be. I highly recommend using Picture Story Weddings. One added note is that I did all correspondences long-distance and never had a delay. Also, I had a suburban and city event and both were captured, through his photography, in their own colorful ways.

It's so true when they say that the pictures are the most valued items from the entire wedding day!...Jon is so nice..so down to earth, always puts a smile on your face! He was so patient when the whole family, from grandparents to little kids approached him and asked to take a photo they would like.Everybody was just so happy...Thank you Jon!

My wife and I were married in July of 2008 and we have been attempting for several months to get in touch with Jonathan about our photographs and getting an album. He has not responded to any of our voicemails or emails and has even changed his cell phone number from the one listed here. I'm on the verge of contacting the Better Business Bureau and my father-in-law (who paid for the service) is meeting next week with his lawyer to discuss a possible lawsuit. Jonathan and his partner did a great job on the day of the wedding and we loved the photos (while we were still able to look at them online) but this lack of response has been beyond maddening.

Jonathan photographed our wedding in the fall of 2008 and captured our day perfectly!
We booked for pictures only and received all our pictures in two weeks along with online proofs.
I would highly recommend Jonathan

After writing my review on April 1st and writing one last terse email I was surprised and happy to receive an immediate reply within minutes from Jonathan Hill. He sent the dvd of all the wedding photos via priority mail the next day and my daughter received them on April 3rd. I don't know what finally prompted a response after all this time but we are very happy to now have them. After reviewing all 800+ photos again I can honestly say that the photography was fabulous.

Jonathan Hill and his partner took fabulous photos for my daughter's wedding in July 2007. The cost was very high but we thought worth it because of the quality. The pictures were removed from his website after a period of time and we have never received the DVDs of proofs that we are entitled to. We have left numerous emails and voicemails and have even now threatened legal action. It is very distressing to have absolutely no response and worry that we will never see these photos again. The bottom line is this: DO NOT USE THIS MAN OR YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR PICTURES!! If anyone has any luck reaching him please post how you did it - we have been trying for about 1 1/2 years!

Since writing my previous review, I have receive an email and the wedding pictures have been posted on the Picture Story Weddings website. Mr. Hill does a good job capturing moments and was very nice and patient the day of the wedding, but we can still only view the pictures on line (which does not help)as the image disk that was promised in the contract has still not been received.

Jonathan Hill takes gorgeous pictures. He's a photojournalist and is very good at capturing moments unobtrusively. At my wedding, he was easy to work with and the resulting pictures are great. HOWEVER, it's been over a year since I got married and I have yet to receive 3 albums we paid for as part of our original contract. He has canceled his cell phone and does not respond to emails or voicemails. If you choose to use him, beware you may end up in the same tough situation we're in now with no money and no albums.
