When you want your fairy tale romance celebrated in style, only a castle location will do. And since Pinterest has a kingdom of ideas you want to implement for your big day, you’ll need a castle-sized space to make it all come together perfectly. Now you can have both at the Castle at Park Plaza.

This National Historic Landmark, which is set above Smith & Wollensky, is the place to make your wedding exactly what you want it to be. A unique venue in the Back Bay and the last example of a Victorian armory in Boston, the 1897 stone building was originally an armory for the First Corps of Cadets, a 1741 Massachusetts military organization. Today, it’s your dream location.

Capturing guests’ attention with imposing vertical towers and turrets, a winged dragon carved into the main tower, and corbels surrounded by crenels, the castle’s exterior is a site to behold. And, once you’re done with it, the interior will be too.

The entire space is one expansive 14,642-square-foot room. Consider this a giant blank canvas. The ceiling height gives an open feel to the space, while the dimmable lighting, brick walls, and wrought iron detail pull things in for an intimate coziness you didn’t think possible in such a large space.

While the site can host a massive strolling gathering of up to 1,000 people, their limit is 530 for a seated dinner celebration. It’s the pure size of the castle that makes this an usual spot for weddings. But you’re up for the task. When an event is smaller, they use pipe and drape to shrink the room down or divide the room into separate reception and dinner space.

The list of approved caterers at The Castle at Park Plaza fits your feast to a king and queen’s palate, with such popular Best of Boston vendors as Bakers’ Best, Capers Catering, and The Catered Affair, to name a few. They also have a lengthy list of lighting, sound, and design experts that can help you create anything you desire. When you’re done planning your big day, it will be one knight to remember.

The Castle at Park Plaza is located 130 Columbus Avenue in Boston.
