Hidden Gems: How to Accessorize Four Popular Necklines
You’ve found the gown. Now comes the hard part: choosing the right baubles to go with it. Malinda Macari, owner of Sudbury’s Your Dream Bridal, shares tips for accessorizing four of this season’s most popular necklines.
To best complement this skin-baring style, Macari recommends accentuating the décolletage with a necklace that comes to a point.
Hearts on Fire “Aerial” 18-karat-white-gold necklace with diamonds, $4,700, Sidney Thomas Jewelers.
Following the natural curve of the collarbone, bateau necklines look best when paired with a bracelet and mid-length drop earrings, which Macari says help “create movement.”
14-karat-white-gold drop earrings with diamonds, $2,600, and 18-karat-yellow-, white-, and rose-gold bangles with diamonds, starting at $1,975 each, all Adamas Fine Jewelry.
“A bold necklace could compete with the neckline and make it look too busy,” Macari says. Aim for simplicity with your favorite pair of studs and a bracelet instead.
“Mini Bailey” 14-karat-rose-gold earrings with diamonds, $485, and “Bailey” 14-karat-rose-gold charm bracelet with diamonds, $795, both Laura Preshong.
No need to play it safe on your wedding day. Show off your style with a necklace that “incorporates color or unique shapes,” Macari says. “One that hits your collarbone will be the most flattering.”
Carole Tanenbaum “Juliana” bib necklace with crystals, $1,100, M. Flynn.
