Lakeview Pavilion Reopens as a Wedding Venue
In 2014, a fire ravaged this 1906 wedding venue. Now, this Foxborough site has from the ashes. Get a glimpse of the venue following its ribbon-cutting ceremony.
On Wednesday, September 2, spirits were lifted. A family-owned historic function hall ravaged by fire in April 2014 once again emerged as one of the premier wedding venues in Foxborough.
The owners of Lakeview Pavilion, sisters Anastasia Tsoumbanos and Natalia Kapourelakos, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their newly rebuilt site, just 17 months after the three-alarm fire. The original venue, built in 1906, has been replaced with a modern facility in the same tree-lined waterfront spot.
“Lakeview Pavilion is our life, and hosting weddings is our passion,” says Tsoumbanos. “When we host a wedding celebration, we feel as though we are welcoming the bride and groom into our home. We were devastated by the fire, but now we have a new home and can’t wait to open the doors.”
After the ceremony, the sisters welcomed guests to be the first to experience the new location. The site’s wedding season began with its first couple tying the knot on Friday, September 4.
“We made every decision about the design and features of the new facility with our future brides and grooms in mind,” Kapourelakos says. “We chose an all-white décor so that our venue would be like a blank canvas for the bride to decorate with her own special touches. Everyone wants their wedding day to be perfect, so we have been trying to do everything possible to exceed those expectations with the new Lakeview Pavilion.”
Rebuilt from the ground up, the 25,000-square-foot venue features two spacious ballrooms (the grand Lakeview Ballroom and Gazebo and the more intimate Lakeside Ballroom and Terrace), both enjoying separate entrances and private decks overlooking the serene lake. The total capacity is roughly 500 guests, the same as the original venue’s size.
“All great buildings have spirit. Lakeview Pavilion will forever hold the lifelong spirit of the wonderful memories it will create,” says Lou Allevato, principal at Allevato Architects Inc. of Franklin, who helped create the new venue. “We’re blessed to have been a part of the magical rebuilding of this great building, knowing we touch all who celebrate their lives together here.”
With a new start come a few new highlights. Lakeview Pavilion now has glorious 32-foot cathedral ceilings complete with sparkling chandeliers and acoustical panels; floor-to-ceiling windows framed by flowing white curtains; a romantic gazebo and terrace for those who want an outdoor ceremony overlooking the tranquil lake; as well as cocktail lounges and private bridal suites.
Lakeview Pavilion is located at 45 Lakeview Road in Foxborough.
