Win a Free Wedding at the Boston Public Library
There’s a contest to earn a free ceremony at one of the city’s premier wedding venues.
Maybe he proposed via Byron sonnet, e.e. cummings verse, or Mr. Darcy quote. Maybe your first date was to the Harvard Book Store, your first kiss happened at Shakespeare in the Common, and your first fight was over which Brontë sister was best. Or maybe the prospect of planning all the little details of your wedding just makes your skin crawl.
Either way, we’ve got good news for you. The Boston Public Library, one of the most sought-after venues in the city, is offering six couples the chance to swap vows in its romantic Italianate courtyard this June for free.
To win, couples are invited to enter the Library’s online lottery anytime between now and March 12. If you and your partner win, you’ll have the Central Library all to yourself for an hour on Sunday, June 11. Your big day will begin with a light breakfast and beverages provided by the Catered Affair. Then, you’ll tie the knot in a fifteen-minute ceremony (officiated by Thomas A. Welch) in the courtyard, with bouquets and boutonnieres provided by Artistic Blossoms and music performed by Anima of Music Management. Angelina Rose Photography will provide both ceremony photography and a thirty-minute mini-session afterward. To commemorate your whirlwind wedding, you and your new spouse will also receive special gifts on your way out, compliments of the Boston Public Library and the Catered Affair.
This fairy tale does come with a few conditions. All ceremonies must take place on June 11 during an assigned time slot, and couples are limited to the pre-selected vendors listed above. Additionally, the guest list must be restricted to eight or fewer. But hey—for a bookish budgeter, that’s a pretty small price to pay to land this dream venue.
