Thanks to a $34 million renovation, the 257-room Hyatt now boasts modern decor, an updated spa and fitness center, and a parklike "Great Lawn" in place of the old parking lot. Situated on Goat Island, the Hyatt is only a few minutes from downtown Newport but feels like a hidden resort. Be sure to check out the new lounge, Five33, which features panoramic views of Narragansett Bay and serves a signature coconut rum cocktail.
