If it were anybody else's recipe, nothing about the mixings for angel pie in a cookbook compiled by parishioners of Saint Julia's Church in Weston would have seemed ironic. But according to the 1986 Boston Post Road Cookbook, this recipe is “Father Geoghan's Favorite,” submitted by the mother of since-defrocked pedophile priest John Geoghan. Geoghan has been convicted of fondling a 10-year-old boy while serving as a priest at St. Julia's and faces accusations from 130 other alleged victims.
“Nobody's happy about it,” said a woman at the church who wouldn't give her name. “Obviously, everybody's very upset.” But she was quick to add: “It's an excellent recipe.”
