Boston’s wintry streets—grimy crosswalks, puddles of slush—are not at all suited to your strappy party Choos or pristine calfskin handbag. This season runway designers are putting their chic stamp on throw blankets in luxurious fabrics and colors: pure wools in serene blue, green, and yellow; supple alpacas in earthy rose, burgundy, and tan. Cuddle up with a glass of wine for a low-key fireside evening under a rich, plum-colored cashmere spread, or go ahead and break the bank to watch your Grey’s Anatomy reruns from beneath Mongolian wool. The decadent layers might warm you enough to consider braving the outdoors in those fancy stilettos. But trust us: You’ll feel more fabulous if you just stay put.
