“Barns are rad!” says Arden Myrin, explaining why she, a MADtv actress, and comedy writer Dan Martin chose their Vermont wedding site. Both East Coast natives—”I’m kind of a Masshole,” Arden admits—the duo met at Hollywood’s Improv Olympic, where Arden performs. When Dan first showed up, “I figured he was a jerk because he was so handsome,” she says. “I assumed he’d have headshots.” But he didn’t, and four years later, he surprised her with a trip to Dublin. One night in their hotel, she recalls, “I was brushing my teeth in these awful penguin pajamas, talking about all the fun we’d had that day. And he said, ‘That’s not all that’ll happen!’ and proposed.” At their New Year’s wedding, they “rocked out” to AC/DC. The last song, Black Sabbath’s “Crazy Train,” nearly brought the barn down, literally, when it seemed the floors might cave in. Says Arden: “Rad!” –S. de G.

1. Of her Round Barn Farm wedding, the bride says, “The upshot of a destination wedding is you’ve gotta decide quickly. I pretty much had the whole thing planned in seven days. I don’t know why everybody freaks out.” 2. The place settings and favors were a two-in-one treat: Arden and Dan attached name tags to 120 snow globes. 3. Arden’s “something blue” was pair of electric-blue Lulu Guinness heels. She kicked them up during the couple’s first dance, to the Scissor Sisters’ “I Don’t Feel Like Dancing.” 4. No wallflower, Arden gladly took the mike. 5. Popsicle sticks turned the programs into fans. 6. Arden’s bridesmaids wore brown and beige BCBG frocks. 7. Her Monique Lhuillier dress was layered with fluttery silk organza swatches. “I didn’t want to be Cinderella, and I didn’t want to be Carolyn Bessette—not too poufy, not a slip,” she says. 8. Dan and Arden share a laugh during the toasts.
