Boston's Guide to the Fourth of July

Dining

Dine Like a President
July 1-31, Lunch, Brunch, Dinner, and Mid-Day Menu
The Fireplace, Brookline

History buffs might be interested in checking out a new July menu at The Fireplace, which is serving up food and drinks from U.S. presidents who were born, raised, or vacationed in the six New England states. It’s a “culinary exploration” into what they ate and drank, and presidential honorees include everyone from John Adams, who will be repping Massachusetts, to George W. Bush, who will be repping Maine.

Top of the Hub
July 4, 7 p.m.

Celebrate the Fourth of July atop the Prudential Center at Boston’s
most “atmospheric” restaurant, for an evening of fine dining, a simulcast viewing of the Pop’s performance on the Esplanade, and a coup de grace viewing of the fireworks from 52 stories above the Back Bay. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with an hour of open bar and passed hors d’oeuvres. At 8 p.m., guests will be seated for a five-course dinner (king crab cocktail, tenderloin of beef, Block Island swordfish and more) followed by fireworks at 10:30 p.m. $200 per person.

UpStairs on the Square
July 2, 3, 4

UpStairs is firing up the grill in the front yard on Winthrop Street. They’ll be throwing steaks, ribs, chicken, and corn on the grill. Come early for an outdoor seat on the new bistro furniture and wicker chairs.
