Harvard Square’s most recently built hotel is also its smallest: With just 30 guest rooms (including one suite) the venue feels exclusive and very Harvard—the perfect base camp for guests who require a little privacy. Although it’s new, the hotel’s exterior was constructed to look like the Victorian home that once stood in its place. Inside is a mix of old-world patina and luxe modern touches.

Standout Features All guest rooms feature custom Anichini linens, Etro bath amenities, and Villeroy & Boch fixtures. Following a ceremony at the nearby Harvard Faculty Club or one of the university’s beautiful museums, guests can enjoy cocktails in the hotel’s lounge, the Simple Truth, then dine at elegant Rialto, just a short walk through the square. Henrietta’s Table and UpStairs on the Square are ideal brunch locations. The lounge at Veritas also has an adjacent patio space, open to the public, where local cheeses and charcuterie (curated by Formaggio Kitchen) are served along with locally crafted spirits by Berkshire Mountain Distillers.

Capacity 14 people inside; 10 outside.

Catering Veritas does not have a full-service kitchen and the lounge cannot be reserved for private functions.
