WHEN DAN AND KEIRA set off for a vacation in Spain, each was packing a secret: a plan to propose. “I had brought my own ring for him. I wanted to take charge of my destiny,” says Keira. Little did she know that Dan was one step ahead — he had been carrying around a ring for her for about a month, waiting for the right opportunity. That moment materialized after a day in Bilbao — but it was Keira’s response that made Dan realize he hadn’t just found the perfect time, but also the perfect partner. “She told me we had to go back to the hotel because she needed to propose back to me. I knew I had found the right woman,” he says.

A little more than a year later, the duo took a trip down a fuchsia-flecked aisle to exchange vows. This time, though, they played a game of rock-paper-scissors to decide who would go first.

The bridal party donned cheerfully mismatched attire.

The bouquets and centerpieces were made of bright fuchsia blooms.

Keira let her bridesmaids pick out their own fabrics, then had them made into dresses.

Keira discovered the wedding venue via a message board, and was “bowled over” when she saw it in person.

When Stephanie James Couture sent over a piece of fuchsia tulle to add to the bride’s dress, it became the wedding’s color inspiration. “It changed the way I thought about pink,” says Keira.

During the party, guests posed for photos with an ornate chalkboard and silly props.

Not able to decide on just one flavor, the couple went with red velvet, chocolate, carrot cake, and five-spice cupcakes.
