It wasn’t until Alesa Rubendall saw the photos from her wedding at Vermont’s Shelburne Farms that she realized her first dance with husband Rob Voss wasn’t the only one at the reception. Cousins Abby, age four, and Tedy, age three — the niece and nephew who served as flower girl and ring bearer in the lakeshore ceremony — wanted to participate in the festivities, too. Outside in the lantern-lit courtyard, the youngsters decided to reenact the couple’s special moment for themselves. “They just went outside and practiced our first dance,” says the bride. “It was a complete surprise.” The big takeaway? When Abby and Tedy someday find their perfect match, they’ll have already had plenty of practice on the dance floor.
