The 30th Annual Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl
It may be a rainy week, but let’s be honest: ice cream is always delicious, whether or not the sun is shining. Which is why there’s no good reason to miss what’s dubbed as the country’s biggest all-you-can-eat ice cream fest. The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl raises money to fund cancer research, and more than 30 flavors from the likes of Ben & Jerry’s, Baskin Robbins, Brigham’s, Friendly’s, and more will be on deck.

Annual Race Amity Celebration
This free celebration has a purpose: to bring people together from different races and cultures as a catalyst for equality. To that effect, the committee behind the Race Amity Celebration is asking attendees to accomplish three tasks. The first is to meet at least one person of a different race, ethnicity, or culture; the second is to agree to contact the person within one week; and the third is, after making a new acquaintance, to register as a team to win prizes. I say bring the whole family … and meet as many new people as possible while enjoying live music, dance, art exhibits, food concessions, and more.

Don’t get me wrong, I can only proffer adjectives for “impressive” when it comes to the 31-year old blues phenom that is Jonny Lang. But even he should get butterflies about playing with the 75-year-old blues legend that is Buddy Guy — we’re talking about a man who influenced the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix, and has more than 60 album releases under his belt. Antiques at Elm Bank
What better place to peruse antiques than a 17th-century estate along the banks of the Charles River?
