September can be a stressful month for us all, and with the official end of summer and a Boston winter lurking in the near distance, we could all stand to have a few laughs. For a not-so-serious way to finish the week, the 13th annual Boston Comedy Festival, which began last Thursday, will officially come to an end tomorrow night with the Festival Finals at Somerville Theatre in charming Davis Square. Comedian of the Year Judah Friedlander (yes—Frank Rossitano on 30 Rock) will round out the festival.

Tonight, the Davis Square Theatre will be host to the semi-finals contests at 8 and 10 p.m., weeding the number of comedians down to 8 as we approach the finale. This evening’s shows will feature special guest John Moses, who started his career 10 years ago in Toronto and who now, embracing his growing fan base, tours through the US, Canada, and the UK. Following both semi-final segments, tomorrow night’s show will end with one first-place winner who will pocket $10,000 and the opportunity to perform at a handful of comedy clubs.

Beginning at 8 p.m., the final shows will feature comedic star Kevin Meaney, who kicked off his career in 1987 on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and later appeared on SNL, Oprah, Regis, David Letterman, and Conan O’Brien. If the remaining hilarious contestants are not incentive enough, Meaney, who has spent his years entertaining audiences in San Francisco and Boston, will likely make the night even more worthwhile. Following Meaney, the showstopping headliner and Comedian of the Year Judah Friedlander will own the stage.

Tickets to the Semi-Finals and Finals can be purchased at BostonComedyFest.com and range from $18–25. Additional information, including more on the backgrounds of the special guests and contestants, can also be found on the BCF website.
