On Saturday, Boston College continues its sesquicentennial celebration—that’s 150 years, folks—with a concert at Symphony Hall. Four of the school’s top music groups, the University Chorale of Boston College, the Boston College Symphony Orchestra, the BC bOp! Jazz Ensemble, and the University Wind Ensemble of Boston College will have the privilege to perform at the home of the BSO.

Planned pieces include the first movement of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. Not exactly BC’s fight song, “For Boston,” but then again, the Dropkick Murphys kind of have that one covered.

Chris O’Donnell (aka LL Cool J’s partner on NCIS: Los Angeles, aka Robin to George Clooney’s Batman, etc.) will narrate Aaron Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait at the event.

O’Donnell graduated from BC in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He’s one of many great characters BC has given us over the years, from the political (John Kerry, Ed Markey), to the comedic (Amy Poehler, Lisa Lampanelli), to however you choose to classify Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Ever to excel! Happy birthday, BC.
