Ben Affleck Somehow Became the Target of the Jimmy Kimmel, Kanye West Feud

#NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK was the hashtag of the evening.

Ben Affleck was dragged into the middle of a social media battle between Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night.

After the host of the late night show poked fun at the hip hop mogul in his opening monologue— calling West out for his recent behavior during an interview with BBC Radio One’s Zane Lowe—West got super offended, despite the pair’s history as close friends, and started berating Kimmel via Twitter in all caps:

Kimmel acknowledged that West was obviously upset with him, tweeting “Apparently @KanyeWest is VERY VERY ANGRY with me,” and later explaining the social media fight during his show Thursday night. But not before Ben Affleck became the center of the entire argument.

During his very public rant, West used the hashtag #NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK after saying he would counter Kimmel’s spoof video by making one of Kimmel and Affleck having sex with each other. “SHOULD I DO A SPOOF ABOUT YOUR FACE OR YOU F****** BEN AFFLECK,” he Tweeted, with the hashtag attached. That tweet was shared nearly 20,000 times. But unfortunately for West, the video about Kimmel and Affleck having sexual relations already exists. And it was made by Kimmel and Affleck.

Of course, there were some other jabs thrown into the whole back and forth, including a shot about Kimmel’s former girlfriend, comedian Sarah Silverman, being funnier than Kimmel himself. Not to mention a knock at what Kimmel’s face looks like. But it was the Affleck hashtag that went viral. Thousands of tweets started rolling in—specifically from celebrities, like one from Lost writer Damon Lindelofand another from actor Zach Braff.

Here’s the one that really kicked it off:

And then Braff chimed in:

And then, of course, Twitter did its thing. Here are some of the other Tweets that followed soon after. Poor Affleck. A bystander hit in Kanye’s crossfire of craziness:
