Ski season is quickly sneaking up on us. Get ready to hit the slopes at the 32nd annual Ski and Snowboard Expo. East Coast Alpine will be rolling out the region’s most impressive ski and snowboard sale, and resorts from around the globe will be offering their best pre-season savings on winter vacation packages, lift tickets, and season passes. Live acts, interactive exhibits, and ongoing giveaways will provide visitors with nonstop entertainment. Long Trail Brewery will even have a beer garden set up for guests over 21.

Boston Book Fair

Book-lovers rejoice! The Boston Book Fair is one of the oldest and most respected antiquarian book shows in the country. Whether you’re a serious collector or just a curious browser, this fair will offer something for every taste and budget. The offerings will be wide and diverse from more than 120 dealers from the United States and around the world. There will be books on art, politics, travel, natural history, literature, music, and children’s books. There will also be a number of seminars taking place throughout the weekend, including a talk with Richard A. Johnson, the longtime curator of the New England Sports Museum.

Make-a-Wish Wine Tasting

What’s better than sipping on wine and socializing with like-minded people to help a good cause? This wine tasting lets you sample sips around the world from Panther Distributing and other wine partners, as well as whiskey and spirits tastings from Boston’s own Bully Boy Distillers and GrandTen Distilling. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy selected chef-inspired food pairings, a silent auction, raffle, and more. Net proceeds will benefit Make-a-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island to further their mission of granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Drink Craft Beer Fall to Winter Fest

As the weather cools and we move from fall into winter, we find ourselves in an exciting time for beer. Brewers focus on using seasonal ingredients to make warming, rich, and hearty beers during the fall and winter months. Drink Craft Beer kept this in mind for the Fall to Winter Fest this weekend. The event will have 25 New England brewers in attendance bringing 80-plus craft beers, with each brewer bringing at least one beer that stars a fall or winter seasonal ingredient. Guests will be able to sample and of them and take home a commemorative tasting cup.
