‘Beacon Hill the Series’ Is Full of Steamy Love Scenes
Intrigue, romance, a dash of blackmail, and dysfunctional family-settings: that’s the description of the latest web series based around Beacon Hill, the “epicenter of Massachusetts politics.”
While lawmakers are ironing out details on legislative proposals at the State House, the online-only show, which released a sneak peek Tuesday of what viewers can expect, goes behind the House and Senate hearings and details a tryst between an elected official and a reporter, and the secrets that the ex-wife of a Senator refuses to hide any longer.
The premise of the show centers on two female leads, Sara Preston and State Rep. Katherine Wesley—former lovers—played by Alicia Minshew and Sarah Brown, respectively. Brown is a three-time Emmy-winning actress who starred in “General Hospital” in the late 90’s. Other actresses and actors featured on the show have also appeared in well-known day-time television dramas.
Here’s how the show’s creators, Open Book Productions and Bella Books, describe the series:
When Senior Massachusetts Senator William Preston suffers a stroke, his rebellious granddaughter Sara is called home to Boston. Once there, Sara finds that her ailing grandfather has a new wife barely older than herself, that her mother Claire is still hiding in her room with her favorite bottle…her brother Eric is playing nursemaid in between board meetings. Sara also discovers that her ex, State Representative Katherine Wesley, is being mentioned as a possible Senatorial candidate in a cat-and-mouse game controlled by Sara’s grandfather. When former lovers Sara Preston and Katherine Wesley reconnect after six years apart, it seems unlikely that they’ll ever be able to put their past behind them. And with the political turmoil, family intrusions and the press interfering, it may be downright impossible.
The episodes, which first went into production in 2012, will begin to appear online beginning in March. To read all of the bios of the actors starring in the low-budget show, visit the Beacon Hill the Series website.
