Five Reasons to Leave the House This Weekend

Donate to charity for free Harpoon samples or enjoy a holiday classic matinée. Plus: Beyoncé!

Music
Beyoncé at TD Garden

The queen is in town—need we say more? Beyoncé, who just released a new album without any prior marketing except for a single “Surprise!” Instagram, will grace Boston with her presence this Friday, and believe it or not, the show isn’t sold out. Sure, you might have to drop a couple hundred of dollars, but she just managed to drop 17 music videos seemingly out of thin air, so this will definitely be worth it.

$45-250+, Friday, December 20, 8 p.m., TD Garden, 100 Legends Way, tdgarden.com

Beerfest + Charity
Harpoon Holiday Party

The Next 26, an organization hosting 26 charity events leading up to the 2014 Boston Marathon, is taking over the Harp this Thursday night with barrels of Harpoon favorites in tow. Bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots and receive free admission; a Harpoon brewery tour voucher; and a raffle ticket to win lift passes to Mount Sunapee, a snowboard and skis from K2 Skis, and a variety of Harpoon gear. Enjoy complimentary appetizers, live music from Ryan Brooks Kelly, and, of course, plenty of beer samples, including Harpoon’s Bronze King, a limited release barley wine.

21+, $5 suggested donation or free with a toy donation, Thursday, December 19, 6-10 p.m., The Harp, 85 Causeway St., eventbrite.com

Free Holiday Classics at Showcase Cinemas

Free with non-perishable food item donation, Saturday, December 21, 10 a.m., participating Showcase Cinemas locations, showcasecinemas.com

Ice Skating
Skate with Santa at Boston Harbor Hotel

This weekend, visit Boston Harbor Hotel’s newly opened rink for skating in a more safe and festive environment.
