Here’s EW’s New Cover with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl

Plus: Affleck and Matt Damon will present at the Golden Globes this weekend, and more Matt and Ben news. (It doesn't stop!)

1. Ben Affleck Is on the Next Cover of EW

And just when you thought Ben Affleck was preoccupied being Batman or adapting screenplays, his Entertainment Weekly cover debuted like a wrecking ball and hits newsstands on Friday.

The cover feature is a first look at David Fincher’s film adaption of the haunting best-selling novel Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Affleck plays lead role Nick Dunne alongside British actress Rosamund Pike as Nick’s wife, Amy. The story follows Nick as he is the prime suspect in Amy’s murder when she goes mysteriously missing. Fincher—best known for directing Academy Award-winning movies The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and The Social Network (2010)—put together this cover shoot himself.

2. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Will Present at the Golden Globes on Sunday

While everyone in America is getting ready for power duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s second time hosting the Golden Globes this weekend, everyone else in Boston will be tuning in to see the real power duo. It’s been 16 years since Matt and Ben won their first Golden Globes for Good Will Hunting, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Wednesday night that the two will take the stage in presenting—this time separately—at the ceremony this year.

Affleck won his second Golden Globe last year for directing Argo, and Damon is nominated this year for his lead role alongside Michael Douglas in HBO’s original film Behind the Candelabra. The two will join other celebrity presenters including Robert Downey Jr., Jimmy Fallon, Tom Hanks, Chris Hemsworth, Mila Kunis, Jennifer Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy, and Reese Witherspoon.

3. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Are Totally Making Another Movie Together…with John Krasinski!

As if Affleck needs to prove he is an actual movie-making superhero, Deadline reported recently that he and Matt Damon will also co-produce a Warner Bros. film together this year. The script is an action-adventure type written by fellow Boston-bred actor and ruler of my heart John Krasinski. I say, just throw in a little bit of George Clooney and maybe some Brad Pitt, and we’ve got ourselves a power team, no? Together at last, together forever.
