PHOTOS: 2014 New England International Auto Show

Visitors viewed and test drove the latest models of cars, vans, trucks, and SUVs at the 57th annual showcase.

The biggest names in the auto industry gathered for the 57th New England International Auto Show this weekend, where visitors got a chance to choose from more than 500 vehicles to ogle and even test drive. The most luxurious of models—Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, and Bentleys—remained roped off and allowed only to be coveted from a distance, but there were plenty of interactive displays interspersed around the showcase as well. The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center housed the event—the largest auto showcase in New England—and a portion of proceeds benefited the South Boston Community Development Foundation.

The showcase runs until 6 p.m. this evening (note: box office closes at 5!), so you still have a chance to see it for yourself. Check out our highlights from the weekend below:

Housed at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in South Boston, the New England International Auto Show displays the latest models from 35 car lines.

Toyota’s TeenDrive 365 program informs visitors about the the dangers of distractions—such as texting and eating while driving—through a simulator at the auto show. The program encourages parents to pass on good driving habits to teenagers during their critical first year behind the wheel.

Popular Mechanics magazine custom-painted a Kia Soul to embody the “youthful and fun spirit” of the Vans Warped Tour.  The car is also outfitted with custom-built fiberglass body panels replacing the side windows and houses eight infinity eight-inch speakers, a 50-inch flat panel monitor, and a slide-out barbecue in the back.
