Go See Casey Affleck at Brattle Theatre

He'll do a Q&A at a screening of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

The Brattle is hosting a very special screening on November 9. The Cambridge theater will be showing the 2007 film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford with a special guest in attendance: Casey Affleck, one of the film’s stars.

Affleck portrayed Robert Ford opposite Brad Pitt as Jesse James, and his performance earned him high praise and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

The Cambridge-bred star—who more recently appeared in Ain’t Them Body Saints and Out of the Furnace—will do a Q&A at the Brattle screening.

If you go, we highly encourage you to not bother the poor man about his brother’s latest antics… but instead nag him for details about Interstellar. Kidding! (Not really.)

Actually, Affleck has quite a few projects coming to a big screen near you. In addition to InterstellarTriple Nine is in post-production, The Finest Hours has been filming in the area, and oh yeah, Affleck signed on for the movie adaption of Boston Strong, a forthcoming book about the Boston Marathon bombings by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge.

Other suggestions for talking points: the Boston Strangler movie, the Whitey Bulger movie, Brookline Lunch, and the Harvard Square movie theater he wants to save.

$12 general admission, Sunday, November 9, 7 p.m., Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge, 617-876-6837, brattlefilm.org.
