First there was #DigOutDineOut, and now there’s #DigOutArts. The new campaign, launched by Opus Affair, encourages people to support local arts organizations and institutions after record-setting winter weather forced many locations to close and cancel events.

“As Opus Affair is very deeply involved in the restaurant industry, I was immediately inspired by the #DigOutDineOut campaign that is encouraging Bostonians to get into restaurants,” says Kyle Hemingway Dickinson, Host of Opus Affair’s Boston chapter, in a release. “Arts groups are also suffering, from either cancelled performances or low attendance, and this seemed like a natural response that Opus could organize to help rally support for our arts community.”

A list of #DigOutArts can be found on OpusAffair.org and people are also encouraged to follow the hashtag on social media.

There are a number of discounts and special offers available, but the most popular offer by far is free admission to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. A not-so-hidden gem of Boston, the museum boasts an impressive collection of art and a lush courtyard that offers a dose of tropical flair, which—let’s face it—you desperately need.

Not convinced? Check out our spring fashion feature, “Stealing Beauty,” photographed on location at the museum. Even in the dead of winter, the Gardner served as one hot backdrop.

The Gardner’s free day takes place Thursday, February 26. Timed entries (every half hour) will begin 11 a.m. with the last entry at 8 p.m.
