Matt Damon, Ben Affleck Producing Apostle Paul with Hugh Jackman

Batman, Jason Bourne, and Wolverine are teaming up for the ultimate faith-based movie that no one expected.

The Matt and Ben eternal friendship of filmmaking is evidently still reigning in Hollywood. A new report from Deadline says that Damon and Affleck are teaming up with Hugh Jackman (a.k.a. Wolverine, a.k.a. the realest superhero) for a Warner Bros. picture titled Apostle Paul.

The premise of course is Biblical, following Paul who prosecuted Christians as the Saul of Tarsus before being chosen by Jesus to be his most important messenger. He embarks on several journeys throughout the Roman Empire, and is credited as the author of 14 of the 27 books in the New Testament. Jackman, who is supposed to star as Paul the Apostle (also referred to as Saul of Tarsus), will produce with Damon and Affleck under their company, Pearl Street Films.

According to People, Jackman is a student of transcendental meditation and was raised by a born-again Christian father.

As for Damon and Affleck, Apostle Paul is one of the many productions they’re involved with together. Their reboot of HBO’s Project Greenlight was shot last year and is expected to premiere sometime this spring. Both are also involved with an untitled FOX comedy from a 30 Rock producer, as well as a Syfy series called Incorporated and a TV series with CBS titled More Time with the Family.

Independently, Affleck is still shooting Batman vs. Superman, which hits theaters next year, and is supposed to be taking on another thriller with his Gone Girl dream team, David Fincher and Gillian Flynn. Damon is confirmed and set to take on a fifth Bourne movie, and is also producing Manchester-by-the-Sea, a movie starring Casey Affleck and Kyle Chandler, currently being filmed on the North Shore.
