No soft bellies to see here.

As fellow students of popular culture may have noticed from the likes of places like The CutGQ, and the Washington Post, the ‘Dadbod’ is storming the internet. What is this Dadbod? you might ask. You saw it on Buzzfeed a few times, but you’re confused by its implications and why it matters to your life.

Original Dadbod pioneer Mackenzie Pearson, a sophomore at Clemson, explains: “The dad bod says, ‘I go to the gym occasionally, but I also drink heavily on the weekends and enjoy eating eight slices of pizza at a time.'” The Dadbod is more than just a physique; it is a lifestyle.

So do people like the Dadbod? Should I encourage others who have the Dadbod? Is the Dadbod a goal I should strive for? All great questions, ones that have afflicted the minds of many writers that come before me.

And alas, after weeks of searching, the clear answer to many of these inquiries has presented itself in the form of a Donnie Wahlberg Instagram. There are new (but old) ambitions on the horizon, ones that involve visible abs.

The Dadbod, we woefully declare, has been upstaged by the Kidbod.
