A fabulous dispatch for all the selfie enthusiasts of our fair city: Boston.com reported this morning that Snapchat, a.k.a. your favorite instant photo app, will highlight Boston on the app’s “Story” feature this Friday.

For those who are unfamiliar and/or still acquainted with Stone Age, the Snapchat Story is a feature that can be utilized by all Snapchat users, allowing you to post a photo or video to your feed for all your Snapchat friends to see. The photo or video expires from your feed after 24 hours.

Snapchat has used its own curated “live” Story to highlight different major events internationally, including occasions like Coachella, New Years Eve, the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, the Boston Marathon, etc. The app has also added major cities into this “live” feed, with users Snapping from places like Brooklyn, Miami, Berlin, Dubai—just to name a few—and now, Boston. Many of these “live” events, of course, are catered to the younger demographic, giving Snapchat’s 100 million daily users a glimpse at what’s happening around the world.

“Boston is one of the oldest cities in the US, and we think it is fun to have Snapchatters share what a day in the city of Boston feels like with the world,” Snapchat’s Mary Ritti told Boston.com.
